Views From The Top

Spectacular views captured 20+ stories above a bustling Fourth of July crowd, their roar muffled by the towering distance of a high rise rooftop.

Views from the North, East and West sides of Chicago filled the party room windows but I was drawn to the rooftop deck and the photo ops along the gated edges of the building.

The photos featured in this post were taken in the early evening, about 3 hours before the fireworks were scheduled to start.
It was a warm summer evening, almost tropical, as heavy humidity blanketed the city, permeating it with a dewy mist; you can, somewhat, see the haze filtering the images and all though I did do a little digital editing, the haze filter is Mother Nature’s work.

These photos exemplify how much I enjoy being behind the camera, capturing images, as most of them were taken while I was standing on a folding chair, leaning over a wiry gate that was 20+ floors above street level.  Needless to say I made a few party goers nervous but I was careful and lived to tell.

If you're feeling good, smile
If it's funny, laugh out loud
& believe that the light
at the end of the tunnel,
just might be you.
